How it started
Hi! I’m Christie, a mom of two & the creator of The Beauty Dashboard. We live in Duluth Minnesota. Like many of you, I start my day off with a rush of activity getting everyone up, ready & out the door to school & work. I am obsessed with time-saving organization ideas to help gain back a little bit of precious time each day. This is where my idea came in. We share a bathroom and it has a pedestal sink. Every morning while getting ready, I would pull all my products out of the bathroom linen closet & spread it all over the bathroom. I would use every square inch including (Gasp!) the toilet seat. Like clockwork, my kids would come in & need to use the facilities. Things would need to be moved, and, at times, knocked over or spilled. After getting ready, I would load it all back up into the closet.
The Product
One day, my sweet son came in to brush his teeth. While reaching for the faucet, he accidentally spilled my new bottle of Vitamin C Serum (I am a believer in great skincare) into the sink. While I watched the bottle of liquid gold spin & spill into the sink, I thought there has to be a better way. I don’t enjoy starting each day this way. I wanted something to make things easier. I wanted something to help us share the space & save me time. I wanted something to hold my products & span across the valuable real estate of the pedestal sink. I wanted it to be moveable when a little one needed to use the sink.
I searched all over the internet & could not find anything that would work. So, I decided to design a solution & ask a local shop to make it. \It takes me one step, not five to take my products out of the closet. I can easily move it so we can share the space. All my favorite products are at my fingertips. Everything is contained. It takes me one step to put in all away. My bathroom is neat & tidy. Most importantly our family mornings are smoother & I save a little extra time to use elsewhere like enjoying my morning coffee while it is still hot!
